Cybersecurity practice

An operational unit with people, procedures and shared visibility.

Design and management of an operations room for monitoring, triage, escalation, coordination and continuous improvement of detection.

Organise the operational safety around critical processes.

A physical SOC brings together analysts, dashboards, procedures and decision channels in a dedicated environment. Its value comes from the ability to quickly move from signal to action, maintaining traceability and coordination with IT, management and incident response.

Design elements

  • mandate, scope, times and service levels;
  • first and second level roles, specialists and escalation;
  • SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewall, cloud, identity and applications sources;
  • event classification and priority criteria;
  • playbook for ransomware, BEC, account abuse, exfiltration and malware;
  • secure communication and war room management channels;
  • rotation, handover and knowledge management;
  • operational, executive and post-incident reporting.

Startup and maturation

NESQ can support assessment, operational design, source selection, use case creation, exercises and controlled startup. A pilot phase allows you to calibrate noise, liability and capacity before extension.

Measurement

Indicators are defined on source availability, backlog, false positives, takeover times, detection and containment, scenario coverage and closure of corrective actions. The metrics are used to govern the service and not to reward the quantity of tickets.
